Before I start, I want to make this clear. I’m not claiming to know everything about old school hip hop before the internet invaded our lives for the better… or for the worst. All my posts on this blog are based on my observations growing up in Queens, New York. It’s also a chance to share information about music and other parts of the culture that have been overlooked.

In order to do this, I want to make this a fun experience. So, I’ve created a concept for this blog that will help us easily travel back in time and return without getting terrible motion sickness. Oh yes, you’re invited to come with me! You… you wanna go, right? Okay! Just gimmie a few minutes then we’ll be ready to use the Rap Waveback Machine. What’s that? It’s just like the name suggests. When you see somebody you know, and like, waving at you, what do you do? You wave back at them, right? It’s a friendly gesture that symbolizes positive feelings about that person based on your past relationship. That’s what this experience. The Rap Waveback Machine is a friendly look back at the jams that made a difference in my life and helped shape what Rap music, and Hip Hop as a whole, is today. In short, we’re Quantum Leaping our way through Hip Hop history.

Who am I? Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I’m ceetay. Consider me the Doctor Brown to your Marty McFly. Coo1? Cool. You Ready? Just hit the button below to where you wanna go!
